A meeting of two over-the-top pop minds was said a few years ago to have happened. If work between chest-pounding pop balladeer Celine Dion and legendarily eccentric producer Phil Spector hadn't been aborted in its early stages, fans of the Canadian superstar might have heard her best, most interesting music. As it is, Dion has shown herself game for a challenge, notably in a collaboration with Meat Loaf svengali Jim Steinman on the offbeat opus "It's All Coming Back to Me Now." All the Way... A Decade of Song is just what you'd expect of a multiplatinum seller's greatest-hits package, but it's also more. Displaying a generosity toward her fans, Dion cherry picks nine signature singles ("My Heart Will Go On," "Because You Loved Me," "Beauty and the Beast"), then fills the rest of the CD with seven new cuts when one or two would have done the commercial trick. Most of these are just what admirers and detractors would expect, and Sinatra lovers will hope that All the Way's title track is the last time his family allows an invented Frank-and-random-celebrity duet to take place. But the textures of "I Want You to Need Me" and "Live," while hardly understated, are more measured. They give hope that Dion may yet take herself to a higher artistic plateau, while still pleasing her millions of listeners. --Rickey Wright |

 Great SACD! Be weary if you own a Sony 955 ..., Aug 11, 2023
Quality is very good ... music is pretty decent if you like Celine Dion ... a lovely SACD to own.
I bought this to show friends and family my system - basically my own demo SACD. The problem is that this disc doesn't like Sony machines (despite being a Sony Music title). I've tried it on 3 seperate DVP-NS955 machines and they all die at the same place (track 6 01:06 minutes during multichannel).
I even have a 2nd copy which I tried as well, and also freezes at that point. I decided to try a LS780 Sony machine which died at the same place as all the 955s. At this point it seems though the SACD is defective, but please remember I used 2 new copies! Also, decided to try this on a Marantz, Yamaha and a few other models - which work perfectly. In all, I have tried this on 8 different players.

The one thing Celine Dion has going for her, the one interesting thing, is the size of her neck. Have you SEEN it? Dear God, she's like some half giraffe-she-beast. It's scary.
Other than that? Painful, painful stuff. Ballad after ballad after ballad, and it sounds like she's singing out of her nose. Worse still is when she attempts a "pop" song, which is kind of the same as having hot nails stuck into your ear drums (and don't get me started on the video's when she tries to look "sexy", quite possibly the worst thing ever).
So who LIKES this woman, then? Who buys and enjoys Celine Dion records? That is something I just can't answer. My immediate answer is fat chicks (they buy all the rubbish, don't they?) Certainly not anyone with any taste, anyway.
The world does not need anymore Celine Dion records, and she certainly doesn't need anyone else buying them. So go buy some real music instead.

If you buy this cd, you just bought a bag of gold. Celine's singing talent is far beyond perfection. Her voice, enthusian, and energy in her songs, lift us high off our feet into the sky. Buy this cd now!!!

This CD is of my favorite singer, Celine Dion. But there are only about 5 of my favorite songs on this CD though, but how hard is it tho find them all at once? Celine Dion is a great singer and for new fans, I suggest that you listen to "My Heart will go on" because that one I think is the best

This album gathers its better songs of an entire decade, but 7 new songs, in which you highlights the first Single That's The Way It Is which had very good acceptance, the simple ones that continued him were not good, but in all ways celine is a Very Complete artist, its Voice it is Of The best In the World, the 4 Single I want You To Need it is I a Very Beautiful Ballad As all those that Celine Interprets, I wait that after its not So successful Album One Heart, return to these ballads and not to a Mediocre pop music.
