Editorial Review
Feeling nostalgic for summer evenings around the campfire? Now the quintessential taste of those nights can be yours anytime, anywhere! The Hershey's S'mores Maker takes away the smoke, the ashes, and the mosquitoes, leaving you with the simple gooey pleasures a graham cracker, a chocolate bar, and a marshmallow can bring. Just install a light bulb (not included), plug it in, and stick a marshmallow on the plastic heating branch (included). Sure, it doesn't have the romantic appeal, but you can tell ghost stories around your kitchen table just as easily. The S'more maker comes with instructions with plenty of safety warnings. You must supply light bulb (60W-120V G 16.5 candelabra bulb), spoon, graham crackers, marshmallows, chocolate bars (Hershey's highly recommended, of course--and a coupon is included for extra incentive), and appetite. --Emilie Coulter

5Why it doesn't get hot enough..., Apr 25, 2023
I own this toy as well - ladies & gents - don't forget that this is a children's toy - the bulb does not get hot enough to brown the marshmallow for 2 reasons

1. It is a children's toy and designed with safety in mind - therefore if the marshmallow could get that hot - it could burn the child's tongue & fingers while using it - we've all been burned by the camp fire before

2. The unit itself would get too hot as well - again this is designed for a child.

Great toy! My daughter loves it!!!

2poor performer, Mar 29, 2023
I bought this toy at christmas because my daughters love to make smores. I have been dissappointed though since it does not seem to get hot enough to actually melt the marshmellows. I have bought the recommended bulb at the recommneded wattage and it still does not seem to work very well. This toy has been dissapointing.....

5LOTS OF FUN!!!!!!!!!, Feb 12, 2023
My daughter got this for her birthday on Feb 9th and it was FUN!!! The light bulb is easily found at WalMart. It just has to be a short, round, candelabra bulb NOT the long pointy tip ones. It will heat the marshmallow perfectly if you buy a 60 watt bulb and nothing less. The smores were delicious!!!!! The kids would have stayed up all night making smores if I had let them!! And to tell you the truth so would I, This was fun!!!!!!!!!!!

2Lead in a children's food toy, Jan 16, 2023
I did not expect it to actually cook a marshmallow but I knew the kids would love the novelty of "roasting" a marshmallow indoors. And they do love it. I am just concerned about the lead warning on the box stating to wash hands after handeling because lead is "known in the state of California to cause cancer, birth defects...". S'mores are generally eaten with ones hands so the use of lead in any children's product seems out of place. Otherwise they built a neat toy. And maybe they could have included a light bulb or found one that was not so hard to track down.

4Pretty neat!, Jan 15, 2023
My daughter received this toy for Christmas. She's 11 and she really likes it. She makes smores for her little sister and her younger cousins. The marshmallows turn warm and gooey but not brown which is good for us. They always complain when we roast marshmallows over a fire and they turn brown or black. For those people who have problems with it, your bulb may not be a high enough wattage. I bought a 40 watt bulb at our local Dollar General which is round and has a small base. It works fine. You can use up to a 60 watt bulb but a 40 watt is as close as I could get with the right size base. I would say if you use less than a 40 watt it wouldn't get hot enough.
