This is as painless as accounting gets, Aug 15, 2023 QuickBooks gives the small business owner essentially enterprise-level solutions at a fair price. Accounting is inherently difficult for most of us (me included!), and will remain my least favorite task. It does and will continue to consume hours of my time each week-especially when unusual situations come up. But the difficulties are inherent in the problem, and QuickBooks makes this as painless as it is ever going to get.
For two years I ran my business using more of an "account-oriented" software package. It required that I speak double-entry bookkeeping as a fluent second language. QuickBooks, by contrast, shields you from most of the drudgery. You can drill down to look at the bare ledgers if you want to, but most of the time you can just work with your friendly old checkbook register. I reckon that it takes me about half the time to run the books for my $2 Million company, which saves me maybe a day a week.
So why not five stars? Intuits marketing policies really are intrusive. You'll get a lot of pop-ups as you go through your daily tasks, shaking you down to buy other Intuit products. Mercifully, I have seldom had to use their customer service.
Overall I have satisfied with the product, and grateful for the time it saves me, and I think it is sold at a fair price.

The Standard, Aug 9, 2023 Need it be said again... Quickbooks continues to dominate. A full-featured accounting system with intuitive functionality and amazing flexibility at an affordable price from a caring company. Hmmm. How do the others keep their market share?

Quickbooks Pro 2005, Aug 2, 2023 My accountant said I should use quickbooks for my business. It turned out to be a very bad choice because the software does the manual tasks of paying bills etc. but gives you little useful information. I have a service business in a very competitive market and I could not get critical information that I needed to run my business.
I had to go to the accountant and his staff to get the business information required to stay competitive. In the final analysis, I quess this is why the accountant recommended the product.

Stick with the proven, or get a real pro..., Jul 30, 2023 I have been using the same copy of QuickbooksPro 2000 since 2001 that has been adequate for my needs. I have resisted the "upgrade" bug and will, once needed, upgrade to a more professional and seamlessly integrated product such as Peachtree.
Let me explain: Quickbooks '00 is adequate for a very small business, it helps to keep track of the necessary information though very labor intensive for imputs. Several business friends that have taken the leap to the later versions have regreted the dificulty and additional expenses associated with the add-ons for these products. It seems that Quicken removes some features and adds others in order to create a "new" version that will generate fresh revenues from add-ons and sign up services, but has failed to fully integrate the assortment of services adequately.
If you must get something to "tame the beans" this will help for a samll business, but for point of sale, financial reports, payroll integration, etc. look elsewhere.

Not User Friendly, Jul 28, 2023 I am a finance profesional and found this product difficult to use, there is a lot of double entry and many simple task that are done the hard way, like entering deposits which unlike quicken is not done in the registar but in a deposit window, and then it is way to easy to get a deposit entered twice which in my short ownership has already occured at least five times. There are some excellent principals at work throughout the program and the ability to prepare invoices, and statments is essential for a business owner however their could be even greater ability to custimize reports. All in all I have been very unimpressed with this otherwise highly rated product.
