What's the No. 1 group dance for the pre-school set? Hint: it's not the "Electric Slide" or "Cotton-Eyed Joe." You guessed it, and so did Elmo: the "Hokey Pokey." Though Elmo doing the "Slide" would be a sight to see, he masters the Pokey quite convincingly, to the probable delight of his toddling fans. After loading his foot with four "AA" batteries, press his hand and he performs the popular jig. He sticks out both his right hand and foot, shakes his body all about, then smoothly spins in place, thanks to a rotating platform under one foot. Elmo even spices up the beat, and sporadically speeds up the action; both innovations crank up the fun factor. The only downside: he was de-plushed, presumably because of all the mechanisms needed to help him dance and maintain balance. The result, still, is an impressive performance. He's just not very cuddly. --Diane Beall

OUR BABY GRANDDAUGHTER LOVED PLAYING WITH HER NEW HOKEY POKEY ELMO WHILE WE BABY SAT FOR HER. EVERY TIME ELMO SANG AND DANCED THE HOKEY POKEY OUR LITTLE GRANDDAUGHTER WHO IS ALMOST 20 MONTHS DANCED AND SANG ALONG WITH ELMO. A GREAT PRODUCT. LOTS OF FUN AND ENTERTAINING AS WELL. THANKS SO MUCH. GRATEFUL GRANDPARENTS IN STATEN ISLAND.

Having an Elmo lover in my house, this was a no-brainer of a purchase. My daughter loves this Elmo and dances along with him. I'm surprised at how well it's held up. The toy gets taken everywhere and gets dropped A LOT! This is a toy even I can tolerate singing!

Excellent toy. Lots of fun for our 18 month twin girls who have been doing the "Hokey Pokey" with grandma and grandpa for a long time. Probably is more fun for those children who have "Hokey Pokey" sound and action recognition.

5 Stars for Elmo's Performance of the Hokey Pokey!, Aug 11, 2023
I bought this for my niece her first Christmas because I thought she would laugh at it (and, to be honest, I just thought it was cute). Elmo went everywhere with her and got drug, dropped, and banged around as she was starting to toddle. She learned to Hokey Pokey, and now - almost two years later - Elmo and she still kick up their feet together. She still gets it out and does the Hokey Pokey with him when I come over, and it is the most adorable thing. I bought her Chicken Dance and E-L-M-O, but neither held her interest or had the staying power of the Hokey Pokey. I give this toy the highest recommendation!

My little girl LOVES this toy. She is one years old and she knows who elmo and she loves to dance with him. She even triees to do the Hokey Pokey with Elmo. It's definately her favorite toy!
