An Awesome Delancey on an Awesome Vespa!, Sep 30, 2005 Barbie has made Vespa Scooters popular once again. These scooters (which were used all over Europe in the 60's) have been associated with the "Mod" world... but these My Scene girls have tripped there rides out with flower power to the max!
I love the fact that the scooter & Delancy's purse have the same flower pattern (the Kenzie Scooter set does the same thing). Delancy's care-free outfit is great for scooting along... and Mattel even included My Scene sized helmets to promote safety for kids :D This isn't the first time My Scene has had Vespas (the original 3: Barbie, Madison, & Chelsea all came boxed with scooters a few years ago)... but this is the first time the scooters are customized to fit the doll.
The Delancy doll itself is great! It's super articulated (can do many poses) thanks to the hard plastic legs and arms with metal joints at knees & elbows. They don't really sit in the "riding" position very well (the rubber bands that hold the swivel hips pulls them backwards instead of letting them sit straight upright)... but they are fun to pose and play with. The hard plastic legs make for easy on-and-off of anything from skirts & pants to panty hose! For the ADULT collector: If you have the "bendy-body" Barbies like the newer Poison Ivy doll, this body can be switched out to fit into the Poison Ivy outfit without ripping the seams. ***Regular Belly Button bodies have too much junk in the trunk {aka big butts} for that outfit to go on right and will RIP the seams (I know because it happened to me on my first try to find a new body for Ivy). I didn't like the "tacky" feel of the Poison Ivy body, so I switched it out with Delancy's body, then gave Delancy a "regular" Belly Button body. THIS IS NOT ADVISED for kids to do. If you want to switch heads off of a body, bring it to your parents and ask them to help... but keep in mind that Barbie's heads are NOT MEANT to be switched around. There is a "T" barb inside the head that will BREAK your doll if you are not VERY CAREFUL when you try to remove the head. Mattel put that "T" barb inside to keep you from taking the head off . Barbies & My Scene dolls are not built to have their heads come off naturally. If you REALLY want to be able to "switch heads" for yourself or your kid, see the "Swapping Styles" My Scene dolls... they're cool!!
I know my reviews are long, but I try to give as much info on the items as possible :D I hope you found this useful >^..^<

this doll rocks!, Aug 25, 2005 you should totally get this doll cause she rocks! Yeah she is pricey but that doesn't matter if you are going to have fun! She is extra durable, her arms move everywhere and so does her head! The motor bike is cool too! She can stand on it alone if you put her feet in to the little slots made and put her hands in the handles, and then you can use the bike stand and she will stand on her own! FYI My Scene rule Bratz suck! Bratz are sluts! My Scene are very fun, un slutty dolls, you should totally get them!

THATS IT! , Jul 16, 2005 i hate this war between myscene and bratz, and this is my opinion on the whole thing....... I think myscene copied a bit off bratz....but you know, i think bratz copied off diva Starz, they were out way b4 bratz and tHey have the same style body, BIG HEAD BIG FEET....so MGA are just as bad as Mattel cuz they copied too!
